Oliver Domeisen AAdipl is a London-based Swiss architect, ornamentalist, curator and academic. He is currently an elected Trustee and Hon Librarian of the Architectural Association and a Teaching Fellow of history and theory MArch at the Bartlett, UCL. He is also in the process of completing his RIBA funded research project The Four Elements of Ornament. In 2014/15 he was a Visiting Professor at the platform for Analogue and Digital Production/IKA at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna; from 2001-2012 he worked as an Intermediate & Diploma Unit Master and History & Theory Lecturer at the AA, in 2013 as Curator of Contemporary Architecture at the Victoria and Albert Museum, from 1997 – 2000 as a Project Architect for Zaha Hadid, and since 2000 as director of dlm architectural designers ltd. His architectural portfolio includes projects such as the MAXXI museum in Rome, the Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Centre, the Nightlife world-tour stage set for the Pet Shop Boys, exhibition designs for the Hayward Gallery and the British Council as well as pods housing body-scanners for fashion brand Bodymetrics. As a curator he produced the Re-sampling Ornament exhibition and catalogue for the Swiss Architecture Museum Basel and Arkitekturmuseet Stockholm. He has lectured or taught at the V&A, Eikones Institute Basel, Yale University, Art Basel, ETH Zürich, the University of Sharjah, the Welsh School of Architecture, the Werner Oechslin Foundation, the AA, the Bartlett, the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna etc. Published writing can be found in numerous books and periodicals such as Archithese, Detail, SAM, Volume, A.D. etc.
